Nestled along the serene coastline of Jalan Teluk Bahang in Pulau Pinang, Manaf Nasi Ayam is a charming local restaurant that brilliantly captures the essence of Malaysian coastal dining. Renowned for its fresh, flavorful dishes and a relaxed ambiance, this beloved spot offers much more than just a meal—it’s a full sensory experience.
The restaurant’s signature dish, as its name suggests, is the delectably tender Nasi Ayam (chicken rice), a timeless Malaysian favorite. However, the menu goes beyond that with culinary gems such as the crispy and fragrant cucur udang served with a rich, nutty kuah kacang (peanut sauce) that creates a perfect dance of textures and flavors on the palate. Freshly prepared beverages like the tropical pineapple juice and creamy coconut shake elevate every meal, providing a refreshing contrast to the warm seaside breeze.
Every meal at Manaf Nasi Ayam is complemented by its breathtaking location. Diners enjoy their food seated in comfortable, rustic huts that overlook a vast stretch of blue ocean and sandy beach, where the gentle wind weaves through, enhancing the seaside dining experience. This tranquil setting is echoed in the attentive and friendly service, warmly praised by patrons for its welcoming atmosphere and swift meal preparation.
Locals and visitors alike appreciate the restaurant's authenticity and affordability. The glowing reviews from satisfied customers underscore how the food, ambiance, and value come together harmoniously. One guest called it a “favorite go-to makan place,” emphasizing the fresh cooking and magnificent view, while others highlight the generous portions and homey vibe that make Manaf more than just a restaurant—it’s a culinary retreat.
Whether you’re craving the expertly crafted Kuey Teow Kungfu, seeking a tasty, affordable meal after exploring nearby attractions like the Tropical Spice Garden, or simply yearning for a place to unwind and indulge in comforting Malaysian flavors with a seaside panorama, Manaf Nasi Ayam offers an inviting culinary sanctuary that will linger in your memory long after your visit.
For those venturing to Penang, this gem on Jalan Teluk Bahang is not to be missed—where every bite is matched by majestic views and genuine hospitality.

Just an amazing place to go. Having food with such a wonderful view at a reasonable price. The food was better to go with their recommendation.

This is my favourite go-to makan place everytime I am in Penang. You simply can’t go wrong - the freshly cooked food, the friendly owner & workers, and the magnificent ambience seated on a comfortable hut overlooking the wide blue sea and sandy beach with the wind gently brushing as you devour the meals. Would recommend to everyone. And yes, don’t forget to order the cucur udang with kuah kacang too. Memang terangkat!

When we’re hungry and tired of our own food, we go to our neighbours Manaf. Kuey Teow Kungfu is top notch, goreng-goreng pun sedap. Always generous and delicious. Hidup Manaf!

Parking nearby on the road side. No prices on the menu but it was a reasonable cost. The coconut shake was good and the fresh pineapple juice was tasty. The staff are friendly, food comes out quick and the place is clean. A nice sea breeze and a decent amount of covered tables are provided. The ABC was good. Assam laksa was alright but there are better spots such as laksa Zaria nearby for that specific dish. My ikan bakar was tasty and fresh. Watch out for monkeys if your parking by the road. We saw some nicking some stuff off a parked motorbike from a carrier bag.
